About Nik

Now an award-winning artist in Canberra and Queanbeyan, Nik Rajic was born in 1949 in a farming village in Croatia. Even as a young boy he was a very good artist, however Nik studied electrical engineering, returning to art in 1999.

Nik specialises in oil on canvas, with occasional excursions into other mediums.  Beginning in realism, Nik is most known for bringing his own interpretation to impressionism and postimpressionism, winning numerous awards and accolades in the Canberra and Queanbeyan region. 

Nik opened his Pialligo Studio and Gallery in January 2007, with the help of Urban Contractors, whose continuing support has been vital in the development of Nik’s career in fine arts. 

Nik has since exhibited his work in Canberra’s leading boutiques and restaurants.

Nik has also taken on some commissioned work, creating “art to order”, including portraits and landscaping.
